Family appeals for medical assistance for 3rd form student

By Zoila Palma:  The family of 3rd form student Asaira Lodge is seeking the public’s assistance for contribution to help with medical bills.

“Asaira is a Third Form student at Muffles College in Orange Walk District. One day, she went to school not knowing it would be her last day attending classes for some time. Her mother received a call from the school informing her that Asaira was acting out of character and was lying on the floor. Since then, she has not been able to return to school.

Her behavior changed suddenly. She would stare at people and laugh for no apparent reason. Last week, we decided to take her to church for prayer because we believe that nothing is impossible for God. During the service, when the pastor invited those who needed prayer to come forward, Asaira became resistant and did not want to go, but with help from her grandmother and others, she received prayer,” he cousin Ashley Hyde explained.

“That same night, just before midnight, we received a call that Asaira’s body had become stiff and her eyes were rolling back. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was treated and later sent home. Since then, her condition has worsened. She has stopped eating, has difficulty walking, and her speech has been affected.

Several pastors have come to pray for her. However, she later began vomiting and bringing up mucus, so her mother took her back to the hospital, where she remains admitted. The doctors have conducted several tests, but the results have all come back normal. They are now recommending a CT scan to help determine what is causing her inability to walk and speak properly,” she added.

Anyone wishing to assist the family can do so by donating to Atlantic Bank acc Catherine Flores 2120052942.
