“Though he is no longer with us, his connection to our school continues through the love and generosity of his family,” the school said.
Ray J’s family donated football jerseys to male and female teams at the school in memory of a beloved son, father and friend.
“We sincerely thank his mother, Michelle Coleman, his father, Raynard Garbutt Sr., his brothers, Shimar Coleman and Azrin Coleman, his fiancée, Amy Gutierrez, and his baby girl, Zhavia Garbutt, for this thoughtful and generous gesture,” the school added.
Ray J’s mom said, “My son’s legacy will forever be remembered in my community, and this is just one of the ways we plan to do so, among many other things.”
“These jerseys represent more than sport. They symbolize legacy, unity, and the lasting bond between our school and its alumni,” the SEPS community expressed.
