By Breaking Belize News Staff: Warm and mostly dry conditions are forecast for the country today under a light easterly airflow. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a few cloudy periods and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers will be isolated, though a few more are expected inland and in the south later today and into the evening.
Winds will be light and from the east to southeast at 5–10 knots, producing slight seas with waves of 1–3 feet. Highs today are forecast at 95°F inland, 89°F along the coast, and 83°F in the hills, while nighttime lows will dip to 74°F inland, 82°F along the coast, and 68°F in the hills.
At 6:00 a.m., Hurricane Erin was centered about 560 miles west-southwest of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph, moving to the north-northwest at 13 mph. Meteorologists confirm Erin is not a threat to Belize.
The extended outlook through Thursday and Thursday night calls for continued fair weather with isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly inland during the afternoon and over the south at night.
