By Horace Palacio: Belize will continue to experience stable and pleasant weather today with warm temperatures and gentle breezes dominating the forecast. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, sunny skies with occasional cloudy spells will prevail across the country, while tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with only isolated showers.
Winds will blow from the east at 10-15 knots, maintaining a light chop to choppy sea state. Wave heights will range from 2 to 5 feet, creating relatively smooth conditions for marine activities. Boaters and fishermen should still take precautions, especially when navigating deeper offshore waters.
Temperatures across the country will remain warm and inviting. Coastal areas will see highs of 85°F (29°C) before cooling to 78°F (26°C) overnight. Inland areas will be slightly warmer, with daytime highs of 89°F (31°C) and nighttime lows of 68°F (20°C). In the hills, conditions will be cooler, ranging between 76°F (24°C) in the daytime and 64°F (18°C) at night.
The outlook for Monday indicates an increase in cloud cover, with a few scattered showers expected over coastal regions throughout the day. However, as the evening approaches, skies will clear, and only isolated showers will remain.
Today’s tidal schedule includes a high tide at 8:55 AM, followed by a low tide at 1:13 PM, and another high tide at 7:53 PM. Tomorrow’s early low tide is expected at 3:26 AM. The sun rose at 6:22 AM and will set at 5:51 PM. The moon will rise at 3:21 PM today and will set at 4:09 AM tomorrow.
Forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch encourages residents to take advantage of the beautiful weather, as conditions will remain mild and dry with only a slight chance of brief rainfall.
