By Horace Palacio: Belize will enjoy warm and generally fair weather today as an easterly airflow supports mostly dry conditions across the country. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, skies will be sunny with occasional cloudy spells, while nighttime conditions will be partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times. Only isolated showers are expected, with a few more likely along some coastal areas.
Marine conditions are forecast to be choppy, with east-northeast winds blowing at 10-15 knots. Wave heights will range between 3 and 5 feet, creating manageable but slightly rough conditions for small vessels. Boaters and fishermen are advised to proceed with caution.
Temperatures will remain warm throughout the day. Coastal areas will see highs of 85°F (29°C) and lows of 79°F (26°C). Inland regions will be hotter, reaching up to 89°F (32°C) before cooling to 72°F (22°C) overnight. In the hills, daytime temperatures will peak at 78°F (26°C), with lows dipping to 68°F (20°C).
The outlook for Sunday and Sunday night suggests a continuation of similar weather patterns, with mainly fair conditions and isolated showers over coastal areas.
Tidal activity today includes a low tide at 6:17 AM, a high tide at 12:12 PM, and another low tide at 6:19 PM. Tomorrow’s early high tide is forecast for 12:23 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:24 AM, and sunset is expected at 5:48 PM. The moon will rise at 8:46 AM and set at 9:06 PM.
Forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch advises Belizeans to expect another warm and pleasant day, with only brief showers possible along the coast. Those engaging in marine activities should be mindful of moderate sea conditions.
