By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The weather across Belize will remain generally fair and calm this weekend, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected, mostly over coastal and offshore areas.
The National Meteorological Service (NMS) reports that a moist northeasterly airflow is prevailing, bringing light moisture but no significant disturbances.
Marine conditions will be moderate, with winds from the north-northeast at 10–20 knots and wave heights of 4–6 feet.
Temperatures will peak near 91°F inland, 87°F along the coast, and 78°F in the higher elevations.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Melissa continues to hover southeast of Jamaica with 70 mph winds, moving very slowly to the west-northwest.
While the system is expected to strengthen into a hurricane, the Belize Met Service assures that it poses no current threat to the country.
Forecasters say similar conditions will persist on Sunday, with a medium chance of showers or thunderstorms developing over the northern and central regions, spreading offshore overnight.
