By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Fabian Cayetano RC girls football team from Bladen Creek, Stann Creek, captured the Roman Catholic Primary Schools Bishop’s Cup Friday, March 28, at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
Guinea Grass RC, the 2023 Bishop’s Cup champions from Orange Walk, secured second place, followed closely by Sacred Heart RC from San Ignacio in third, and Our Lady of Lourdes RC from Maskall, Belize District, in fourth.
In the boys’ category, Mount Carmel RC Primary School from Benque Viejo del Carmen, Cayo, won the national championship winning 2-0 in the dinal over subchampions They defeated tough competition, including San Pedro RC from Belize District, the defending champions, who placed second. San Pedro Columbia RC from Toledo claimed third, while Concepcion RC from Corozal finished fourth.
The Bishop’s Cup continues to inspire young athletes across Belize, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, community pride, and excellence. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding achievements!
