Lucia Nankoe’s “Suriname Wedding Portraits” [Trouwportretten- Surinaamse Voorouders in Beeld] exhibition opens on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Terramar Museum (located at Kaya Isla Riba 4, Kralendijk) in Bonaire.
Description (from the Terramar Museum): This special exhibition, curated by guest curator Lucia Nankoe, shows how love, connection and identity come together in unique ways in the Caribbean region of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Using historical portraits, you’ll discover how wedding photography evolved and what personal stories, traditions, and perspectives come to life.
With “Suriname Wedding Portraits,” we want to reflect together with our partners on what faithfulness means, past and now, within different communities. We are honored to share these stories, and we hope you will join us to celebrate this special moment.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Terramar Museum for [the exhibition and] an informal meeting with the curator.
