[Many thanks to Olivia Maëlle Breleur (Maëlle Galerie) for sharing this news.] “El Maestro Breleur: La fragilidad de un corazón de cristal” [Maestro Breleur: The Fragility of a Glass Heart] co-curated by Dominique Brebion and Olivia Maëlle Breleur, features a collection that spans four decades of work by Martinican artist Ernest Breleur. Conceived by the Clément Foundation, it is now at the Museo de Arte Moderno Santo Domingo (located on Pedro Henríquez Ureña Avenue, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic). This solo exhibition opened on February 24 and will remain on view through April 5, 2026.
Description: Co-curated by Dominique Brebion and Olivia Maëlle Breleur, the exhibition draws on the ideas of Délia Blanco, who affirms the urgent need to recognize, name, and celebrate the Maestros of the Caribbean. Ernest Breleur’s multifaceted and prolific work is resolutely contemporary, unique, and constantly in search of innovation.
Each series is a step that opens onto new artistic challenges but remains focused on a fundamental theme: the mystery of life.
