The collective exhibition of Virgin Islands artists, “Conversations on Pride,” will open on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00pm (with live music by Baz n’ Dem) at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts (CMCArts), located at 10 Strand Street, Frederiksted, St. Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands. The show will be on view through June 20, 2026. As the exhibition highlights, “Freedom is a part of the human condition. We all live. We all breathe. We all wake up in the morning, and we all want to be free.”
Description: CMCArts (The Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts) is pleased to announce the next exhibition kicking off our 2026 Dialogues on Freedom Series and celebrating PRIDE month in collaboration with STX Pride and co-curated by Sonia Nahar Deane of the Cane Roots Art Gallery and CMCArts. The exhibition entitled Conversations on Pride, is a group showcase of local VI artists. The opening reception is Thursday, May 28th from 5 – 8 pm with live music by Baz n’ Dem. Complimentary small bites will be provided by Barb’s Bites. The event is free with a suggested donation of $10 to help support CMCArts’ impactful programming.
For many years, CMCArts has been a proud ally and collaborator with the June PRIDE events and the STX Pride organization as well as hosting annual Pride exhibitions. The Pride exhibition opens the Dialogues on Freedom Series showcasing artists from the VI LGBTQ+ community. We are honored to support everyone in their creative endeavors.
