By Breaking Belize News Staff: After spending nine months on remand, 24-year-old Eric Fraser has been granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for an attempted murder charge.

Fraser, who appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2 of the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday, was granted bail with two sureties of $5,000 each. The prosecution raised no objection to bail.

As part of his bail conditions, Fraser must report to a police station every Friday, avoid contact with the virtual complainant and his family, remain at least 25 feet away from the complainant, and refrain from interfering with prosecution witnesses. He is also required to stay out of further legal trouble while on bail, or risk having his bail revoked.

Fraser is jointly charged with 23-year-old Jahreem Staine for the attempted murder of Jimmy Rojas, stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in January 2024 in the Fabers Road area of Belize City. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 27, 2026.

Fraser had remained in custody following his release from a separate murder charge, which was discontinued by way of nolle prosequi on November 26, 2025—his 24th birthday. He had originally been charged at age 18 in connection with the 2019 shooting death of 44-year-old Brindell Munnings, who succumbed to his injuries later that year.

Despite walking free from the murder charge, Fraser remained behind bars due to the pending attempted murder matter—until now.
