EP Yorke dominate CSSSA girls’ football awards after historic title run

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Edward Percival Yorke High School’s breakthrough 2026 season didn’t just deliver the school’s first Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) Girls’ Football Championship — it also produced a sweep of the tournament’s top individual honors.
Jeniyah Welch was named Most Valuable Player, anchoring EP Yorke’s midfield throughout the campaign. Her calm penalty in the final helped secure the school’s first-ever Central Region crown.

Tournament top scorer LiAudra Graham earned the Most Goals award after a standout run that included the opening strike in the championship match.
The Best Goalkeeper award went to Amarqua Arnold, whose four consecutive saves in the penalty shootout against Wesley College sealed the title.

The lone award not claimed by the champions went to Kyfeira Lino of St Catherine’s Academy, who earned Best Defense honors.
EP Yorke now prepare for the NSSSA National Championship, hosted by Wesley College on February 19–20 at the Marion Jones Sports Complex. They will face:
- Belize Agriculture High School – Northern champions
- Mt. Carmel High School – Western champions
- Georgetown Technical High School Egrets – Southern champions and defending national champions
