By Breaking Belize News Staff: Several employees who work in San Ignacio and Santa Elena and commute daily from and to Belmopan are concerned following an incident on the bus that leaves around 4pm to Belmopan.
According to reports, there is only a 4pm bus heading from San Ignacio to Belmopan and that bus is always packed.
On Monday afternoon, commuters hopped on the bus and they allowed standees but reaching at Esperanza, there was a police checkpoint and all standees had to exit the bus.
Prior to this, there was reportedly a 4pm and a 4:30pm bus to Belmopan but commuters told BBN that they are now forced to catch the 4pm bus that is always packed.
In addition, the commuters indicated that due to work, this is the bus they catch to go home but recently, they are struggling to get on the bus to Belmopan.
The commuters are urging the relevant authorities to address this situation.
