Elise Vernon makes top 40 at Miss World in India

By Aaron Humes: 22-year-old Elise-Gayonne Vernon placed among the top 40 contestants participating in the 2023 Miss World Pageant held earlier this morning local time in Mumbai, India.

Vernon is a farmer and certified beekeeper. Her Beauty with a Purpose platform at the pageant promoted eradicating world hunger through the promotion of sustainable agriculture with youth and women.

According to her Miss World bio, Elise-Gayonne became a self-employed farmer after having studied Biology at University. She has also rescued many animals which now live on her farm. Elise-Gayonne has future ambitions to become a Vet, specializing in large farm animals. Some of her hobbies include open water diving, football, and being involved in her local community. She also plays the steel pan and guitar.

The pageant was won by Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, with first runner-up being Lebanon’s Yasmina Zaytoun, 2nd runner-up being Botswana’s Lesego Chombo, and 3rd runner-up being Trinidad and Tobago’s Aché Abrahams.
