By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A red 2001 Chevrolet Metro was damaged after an electric bike collided with it on Queen Victoria Avenue, Orange Walk Town on Sunday night.
According to the report, a 35 year old driver of Belize Street was travelling from the direction of the Philip Goldson Highway onto Queen Victoria Avenue around 9:30pm.
He told police that as he reached in front of the Courts outlet, he heard a bang on the right passenger side of his vehicle.
Initial investigation indicates that an electric bike overtook on the right hand side of the road in front of Courts and struck the vehicle, denting the back door on the passenger side.
Conditions at the time were dark with poor lighting. The street was dry and paved and traffic was minimal.
A statement was recorded and a Notice of Intended Prosecution served on the driver, who does not accept fault and is seeking compensation for the damage.
No sketch plan was drawn as the vehicles had already been moved.
