Posted: Wednesday, March 12, 2025. 6:13 am CST.

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans heading to the polls today can expect fair and dry conditions, ensuring that voter turnout remains unhindered by the weather. With sunny skies and warm temperatures prevailing, the conditions will be ideal for casting ballots without disruptions.

The forecast indicates variably cloudy skies throughout the day, with isolated showers possible but unlikely to affect the electoral process. Inland temperatures are set to reach a high of 92°F (33°C), while coastal areas will peak at 84°F (29°C), providing warm but manageable conditions.

For those voting in the hills, temperatures will be slightly cooler at 76°F (24°C) during the day. Winds are expected to remain light at 5-15 knots from the east-southeast, while marine conditions will be calm, with waves between 2-4 feet.

As election results unfold later tonight, the skies will remain clear to partly cloudy, allowing for smooth coverage and celebrations across the country. Looking ahead to Thursday, Belizeans can expect similar fair weather with little to no rainfall.

With no major weather obstacles in sight, Belizeans can focus entirely on exercising their democratic right in today’s elections.
