By Zoila Palma:  Cayo District is gearing up for the biggest festival of the year as the El Cayo Festival takes over San Ignacio and Santa Elena on November 1st and 2nd, 2025.

Celebrating the rich culture and traditions of Belize, the two-day event promises a vibrant mix of music, food, sports, and cultural activities along the scenic banks of the Macal River.

Festival-goers can enjoy cultural competitions, traditional dances and performances, and a wide variety of Belizean cuisine representing the country’s diverse communities.

Music lovers will also be treated to performances by some of the top DJs in Belize, creating a lively atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. In addition, sports enthusiasts can take part in triathlons, marathons, biking, and swimming competitions throughout the weekend.

Local businesses interested in participating can still secure a space at the festival.

Organizers encourage interested vendors to contact 672-7437 via WhatsApp for information before all spots are filled.
