By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City prep chef was arraigned and remanded to the Belize Central Prison after police say a search at his Ebony Street residence led to the discovery of a loaded firearm, ammunition, and suspected cocaine.
He is 31-year-old Kendale Shavon Carcamo, a resident of #30 Ebony Street, Belize City.
Police say that on Thursday, May 21, 2026, officers conducted a search at Carcamo’s residence when a black object resembling a firearm reportedly fell from between his legs to the ground. The object was later identified as a 9mm Beretta pistol loaded with 14 live rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Authorities also reported finding 0.8 grams of suspected cocaine.
Carcamo appeared unrepresented at his arraignment, where he was read three criminal charges: kept unlicensed firearm, kept unlicensed ammunition, and possession of a controlled drug.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Due to the nature of the firearm offenses, bail was denied in the lower court, and Carcamo was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July 27, 2026.
