By Breaking Belize News Staff: Goldburn Adolphus, also known as “Easy Glen,” was further remanded to the Belize Central Prison on Tuesday as his murder case was adjourned to September 2, 2026, for a preliminary inquiry.
Adolphus is accused of the murder of 42-year-old school warden Shaniele Faber, a mother of four, whose mutilated body was discovered stuffed inside a blue drum at the corner of Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road in Belize City on October 4, 2025.
Tuesday marked exactly nine months since Adolphus was first arraigned on October 7, 2025, on a single charge of murder. He appeared before the Chief Magistrate, where the matter had been set for preliminary inquiry, but it was adjourned.
His attorney, Norman Rodriguez, has indicated that the September PI is expected to be an interesting one, as he intends to challenge several pieces of evidence that police plan to rely on.
Among the evidence expected to be challenged is surveillance footage which police say shows a man pushing a blue barrel containing the alleged remains of Faber. Police claim the man seen in the footage is Adolphus.
Adolphus was previously provided with disclosure in the case, which reportedly includes 90 pages of documents, 30 photographs and three DVDs.
According to police, Faber’s partially decomposed body was found inside a blue garbage drum after a bottle collector discovered it around 4:30 p.m. on October 4, 2025. The man reportedly informed a female police officer who was in the area.
Police say Faber, who lived on Police Street in Belize City, was later identified by her brother. She was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
As part of their investigation, police established a secondary crime scene at the lower flat of a three-storey building at the corner of the George Price Highway and Central American Boulevard. Investigators reported finding blood spatter inside a room.
Police also retrieved a machete with apparent blood stains, a red and green trolley with four wheels, and three blood swabs from the room.
Adolphus, a former security guard, was detained during the investigation. Police say he refused to give an interview on October 6, 2025, and was later charged with murder.
He remains on remand pending the September 2 preliminary inquiry.
