By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-year-old Duane Dwight Wite, a Belize City construction worker, has been provided with full disclosure in connection with the murder of Coby Ledlon.
Wite, who was arraigned for murder earlier this year, appeared in Court #6 on Thursday, December 11, 2025, before Magistrate Mannon Dennison. During that appearance, the prosecution handed over full disclosure consisting of 73 pages of documents, 20 photographs, and four DVDs, outlining the evidence police allege they have against him.
The court was informed that Wite’s Preliminary Inquiry (PI), which will determine whether he will stand trial for murder at the High Court, has been scheduled for January 21, 2026. Wite remains unrepresented on the murder charge.
Wite was initially arraigned on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Coby Ledlon.
According to police reports, the incident occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at around 10:30 a.m. Ledlon was socializing with friends on Iguana Street when a gunman approached him and fired two shots in his direction. One of the shots reportedly struck Ledlon in the head.
Police say Ledlon was standing in front of a gate at the time of the shooting. He was rushed to the hospital and admitted to a ward but later succumbed to his injuries approximately 24 hours later, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
