By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City teenager accused of a deadly 2023 shooting is set to appear before the High Court next month. Justice Nigel Pilgrim has scheduled a Case Management Conference (CMC) for June 27, 2025, in the murder case against 19-year-old Dorian Anthony.
Anthony is charged with the October 19, 2023 murder of Trenton Webster, who was gunned down while standing on Rasta Street in Belize City. Police investigations revealed that Webster was waiting for a family friend who had gone to a nearby shop when a lone gunman dressed in black opened fire, fatally injuring him. The shooter fled in the direction of North Creek.
Anthony, who was only 17 at the time of the alleged murder, is being represented by Attorney Dr. Lynden Jones, though his appearance in court on Friday was covered by his associate, Ability Moguel of Lynden & Associates Company.
This is not Anthony’s first encounter with a murder charge. Just eight months prior, he had been acquitted in the 2023 shooting death of 61-year-old Emert Flowers, who was killed during a broad-daylight incident on Racecourse Street. Anthony, along with Adrian Andrew Hernandez and a 17-year-old minor, had been jointly charged in that case. However, the charge was withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.
Flowers was the father of the late Kyle Latchman, who went missing in December 2022 and was later found dead.
Anthony remains in custody pending the upcoming conference.
