By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Ladyville man accused of exposing himself to a 20-year-old woman who is his friend’s girlfriend has apologized for his actions and agreed to stay away from her following a police-mediated settlement.
According to police information, a 20-year-old woman visited the Ladyville Police Station on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and reported that she was at her boyfriend’s home on Stuart Street earlier that evening when an unknown man repeatedly approached the house.
She told police that the man initially asked for her boyfriend and later for her brother-in-law. She alleged that he subsequently stood near the doorway and peeped into the bedroom before approaching her again.
During the encounter, the man allegedly asked if he could show her something and told her not to tell her boyfriend. The woman reported that the man then took out his penis in front of her.
She said she immediately went inside and locked the door because she feared for her safety before contacting her boyfriend. The couple later visited the Ladyville Police Station and gave statements.
Police identified the man as a 22-year-old man from Ladyville. He visited the police station the following morning, where he was informed of the indecent exposure report, cautioned, advised of his constitutional rights and detained.
However, the woman had indicated that she did not want court action and instead requested mediation.
Police conducted the mediation on Wednesday night between the woman, her boyfriend and the accused creep. According to the police report, the accused was strongly warned to discontinue the behaviour and to stay away from the woman and her boyfriend.
The man apologized for his behaviour and reportedly promised that it would not happen again.
Police say the couple was satisfied with the outcome and agreed not to pursue court action. The parties reached a mutual agreement and the matter was settled.
