Food and non-alcoholic beverages also saw price hikes, with the category posting a 1.6% inflation rate for the month.
Average food costs rose 1.1%, led by cereal products such as bread and bakery items (2.2%) and fresh meats, including pork, beef, and poultry, which increased 3.1%.
Non-alcoholic beverages climbed 4.4%, fueled by higher prices for purified water (6.4%), soft drinks (3%), and fruit and vegetable juices (7.9%).
