By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Digi Valentine Cycling Tour 2025 begins on Friday at 6:00 pm with a prologue in Belize City. Seventy-five riders, including seven women cyclists, have signed up for the event, aiming to tackle the three-day event.
The Stage One one-mile prologue starts and finishes at the Digi Corporate Headquarters on St. Thomas Street in Belize City, extending to St. Joseph St. where it makes a U-turn at the traffic light, finishing on the opposite side of the start line. Stage 2 will be held on Saturday and Stage 3 on Sunday.
Digi Valentine Tour 2025 Stages
Stage 1: Friday, February 14 – The Prologue, starting and finishing at the BTL Corporate Headquarters on St. Thomas Street, covers about one mile.
Stage 2: Saturday, February 15 – The Open Race for the Elite, Masters 35+, 40+, 50+, and 60+ starts at 8:00 am from the BTL Headquarters on Princess Margaret Drive, goes onto the George Price Highway, continues through the Coastal Road and returns, to finish at the DigiStore on the Mirab Compound on the Philip Goldson Highway, covering 100 miles. The Men’s Junior and Youth will race from Belize City to Mile 25 and back, covering 50 miles, starting at 8:15 am. The Open Women’s, along with Women’s Junior and Youth, will race from Belize City to Rockville and back, totaling 40 miles, starting at 8:30 am.
Stage 3: Sunday, February 16 – The final leg is a hill race starting at 9:00 am on the San Antonio Circuit in the Cayo District. The riders in the Open Race will tackle two laps on the San Antonio circuit, starting at the Shell Service Station in San Elena. This route goes along the George Price Highway to Georgeville, loops through San Antonio, returning to the Shell Service Station for a total of 64 miles. The Men’s Junior/Youth riders do one lap, while the Women cover 32 miles, going from Santa Elen to Georgeville and then to 7 miles on the Pine Ridge Road before returning, totaling 24 miles.
This weekend of competitive cycling promises top level cycling.
