By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow who was once Sean “Diddy” Combs’ protégé has accused the music mogul of “destroying” his life following a 1999 nightclub shooting in New York.
Shyne recalled how he defended Diddy during the incident but was later betrayed when Diddy called witnesses against him, leading to Shyne’s imprisonment.
In a recent press conference, Shyne expressed his feelings about their past, stating, “I was defending him, and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to prison.”
“I forgave. I moved on. But let us not pretend as if I was in Miami for Thanksgiving and Christmas,” he added.
Shyne was a rising star with Bad Boy Records when the shooting occurred at Club New York, resulting in injuries and multiple arrests.
While Diddy and his bodyguard were acquitted, Shyne was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison, later being deported to Belize upon his release.
Despite their tumultuous history, Shyne has shown forgiveness, even performing with Diddy in London in 2023.
However, he stressed the serious impact of Diddy’s actions on his life.
Meanwhile, Diddy faces serious legal troubles, having been charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
