By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Derrick Chavarria of the G-Flow Cycling Team surged to a commanding victory in the Miguel Brothers Cycling Race on Sunday, outpacing a competitive field in the grueling San Ignacio–Succotz Ferry–Belize City route. The win earned Chavarria the top prize of $2,000 and a commemorative trophy donated by Stephen Miguel in honor of John Miguel.

The race, held in memory of the Miguel brothers—John, Edward, Rudy, Arthur, and Edward Sr.—brought together elite cyclists from across the country in a tribute to the Miguel brothers. Chavarria’s triumph was part of a dominant showing by G-Flow, which claimed six of the top ten positions.

The top five were rounded out by Keith Enwright (G-Flow) in fourth and Ahmaad Cherrington (G-Flow) in fifth, with prizes donated by Shalene Miguel and Jane Miguel of Hopkins, respectively.

📸 The event was not only a exhbition of Belizean cycling talent but also a celebration of community and remembrance. Each prize was sponsored in honour of a Miguel brother, with Edward Miguel Sr. memorialized across multiple placements from sixth to tenth.
