By Zoila Palma: The Department of Youth Services, in partnership with the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council, Belmopan City Council, Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Social Security Board, and Belize Companies & Corporate Affairs Registry (BCCAR), is currently hosting the Small Business Training II & Business Mixer at the Cayo Center of Employment Training Conference Room in San Ignacio.
This initiative is empowering 30 young entrepreneurs, equipping them with essential tools and knowledge to succeed in Belize’s growing business environment.
The training covers crucial topics including:
- The New Trade Licensing Act & Registration Process, facilitated by the Town Councils.
- Access to Financing through the Development Finance Corporation.
- Business Registration Procedures presented by BCCAR.
- Self-Employment Benefits and Sign-Up, outlined by the Social Security Board.
In addition, a Business Mixer offers participants the chance to network, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.
The Department of Youth Services says that it remains committed to nurturing local businesses and strengthening Belize’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The next event will be held in the Belize District.
