By Zoila Palma: The Department of Youth Services (DYS) extended congratulations to 20 young ladies who successfully completed a 9-week Sewing Program held in the beautiful village of San Pablo.
The program focused not only on teaching sewing skills, but also on life skills, financial literacy, self-esteem building, and empowering young women to believe in their potential.
Throughout 9 weeks, participants created amazing pieces including skirts, pants, cultural outfits, Christmas table mats, mittens, and even graduation dresses.
“The journey was filled with new experiences, new friendships, and new ideas, all stitched together with dedication and pride,” DYS said.
DYS thanked UNICEF, the San Pablo Village Council, Daisy Cabrera, and facilitator Maria Urbina, who went above and beyond every single day.
“And to the young ladies—your commitment, teamwork, and determination made the DYSOW Sewing Program 2025 a true success. We salute you,” DYS added.
