Department of Border Management and Immigration participate in professional development training

By Zoila Palma:  Today, staff of the Department of Border Management and Immigration Services (DBMIS) participated in an intensive professional development training session facilitated by Dr. Raymond Kelly, Retired Supervisory Special Agent and Law Enforcement Advisor.

The session emphasized strengthening investigative capacity, interview and interrogation techniques, critical thinking, effective communication, and professional report writing, all critical competencies for modern border management and immigration operations.

This initiative forms part of the Department’s continued commitment to enhancing operational readiness, improving analytical decision-making, and reinforcing professional standards across its ranks.

“As border management evolves, so must the skills of the officers entrusted with safeguarding national security and serving the public with integrity.

Capacity building remains a priority as the Department of Border Management and Immigration Systems – DBMIS continues to modernise and strengthen institutional excellence,” the Ministry of Immigration said.
