By Aaron Humes: On Saturday afternoon, a robbery was reported at Cam-Fong restaurant on Constitution Drive in Belmopan. The victim, an employee of Big H Company, was delivering products alongside his co-workers when the crime occurred.
At approximately 1:50 PM, while parked outside the restaurant in a white six-wheel Hino truck, two co-workers entered the establishment to place an order as he stayed behind. He was retrieving money from his bag to purchase food when suddenly, a man opened the passenger side door, brandishing a gun.
The assailant, described as wearing a black helmet that obscured his face, threatened Jimenez in Spanish, instructing him not to move or he would be shot. A second accomplice, also dressed in a full-face helmet, waited nearby on a black motorcycle.
The gunman demanded the sales money, but he informed the robber that the cash was locked in a safe, out of reach. In the end, the suspect took just $5 that he had on him, along with a cell phone belonging to one of the other men, which was valued at $300. After the robbery, the two men fled the scene on the motorcycle.
Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
