By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Christmas Day discovery has left a family in mourning after the decomposed body of a man was found inside an abandoned house in Orange Walk Town yesterday afternoon.
According to official police reports, at around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, officers visited an abandoned wooden house on Boundary Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a male in an advanced state of decomposition lying on the floor.
Beside the body, police found a black bag containing a cell phone and a Belizean Social Security ID in the name of Herman Alex Constantino, 35, a laborer of Sittee River Street.
Initial investigations reveal that a man was cleaning the yard of the property when he noticed a strong, foul odor coming from the house. Upon checking inside, he made the gruesome discovery and alerted the police.
The scene was processed by Scenes of Crime personnel, and the body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, where it was officially pronounced dead at 3:32 p.m. No visible signs of injury were observed due to the state of the remains.
The body now lies at the NFSS morgue awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
