By Aaron Humes: An exchange of gunfire proved fatal Thursday night for Hattieville resident Darnell Arnold, who was taken down by one shot after allegedly firing multiple shots at a residence after ten p.m.
This afternoon Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero told reporters that the complainant, the owner of the house, said he was at home with his family when he began hearing gunfire.
“He opened his window to check what was happening, at which point he saw a male person firing shots toward his house. He pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot at the person who was firing toward his house, causing fatal injuries to the person,” Romero said. Police are now thoroughly investigating and will forward the results to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for directives.
Police are sure it was Arnold, who died on the scene, who did the shooting, but it is unclear why he went to shoot at the house.
