Dancehall icon Buju Banton returns to United States

The artist, whose music resonates deeply with Belizean audiences, marked his return with a joyful moment with renowned music producer DJ Khaled on Thursday, sparking excitement amongst his devoted Belizean fans.

“God is amazing,” Banton said enthusiastically during an Instagram live video. The Jamaican star expressed gratitude for his return and revealed Khaled was the first person he wished to see following his time away.

Banton, born Mark Myrie, was released from federal prison in December 2018 after serving a sentence on a cocaine conviction. His subsequent deportation to Jamaica raised questions about his ability to return to the United States, making his recent appearance particularly significant.
