By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Cycling Federation of Belize has named Cory Williams to represent Belize at the UCI Elite World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. The CFB said Williams will represent the country in both the Individual Time Trial (ITT) and the Road Race.
According to the CFB, the UCI Elite World Championships in Zurich will be held from September 21-29, 2024.
Williams is Belize’s National Road Champion having won both the National ITT and Road Championships. He won the 10-mile 24th Elite National Individual Time Trial Championship on Sunday, June 23, on the John Smith Road. Williams clocked 20 minutes flat (20:00), winning over Oscar Quiroz of Team Valvoline (21:22) and Carlton Robinson of Alliance United (22:55), who were second and third respectively.
One week later on Sunday, June 30, Williams captured the 90-mile 2024 National Road Championship. He was followed by Patrick Williams and Athlee Lozano.
