The Casa del Caribe, based in the city of Santiago de Cuba, promoted the 45th edition of the Fiesta del Fuego today at the National School of Higher Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Morelia campus.
According to the event’s official organizers, the presentation held on Mexican soil is part of the internationalization strategy of the Caribbean Festival, regarded as one of the most significant cultural gatherings in the region.
During the promotional event, participants highlighted the identity values, multicultural richness, and integrating spirit that define the Caribbean Festival, as well as its role in the dissemination of popular traditions and artistic exchange among nations.
The launch strengthened academic and cultural ties between Cuba and Mexico, reinforcing the international reach of the Fiesta del Fuego as “a space for dialogue, creation, and preservation of the region’s intangible heritage.”
The 45th edition of the Caribbean Festival, scheduled for the first week of July in Santiago de Cuba, is shaping up to be a new opportunity to “celebrate cultural diversity and strengthen the bonds among Latin American and Caribbean peoples.”
