By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating an aggravated assault reported by a man who was allegedly threatened with a machete in Orange Walk District.

Roger Hilton, 38, a cowboy from Tower Hill Village, reported that on Thursday, April 9, around 12:15 p.m., he was riding a company horse along Santa Martha Road heading toward a ranch when the incident occurred.

Hilton told police that a man known to him as “Moody,” who was traveling on a tractor with several others, jumped off the vehicle armed with a machete and began approaching him.

According to the report, Hilton’s co-worker intervened by drawing his own machete, causing the suspect to stop approximately 10 feet away. The suspect then allegedly issued a threat, stating he would chop Hilton’s head in two, placing him in fear for his life.

The suspect then left the area, and Hilton continued to the ranch without further incident.

Police have recorded a statement, and the suspect has been identified as Michael Edwards, also known as “Moody,” who is wanted for questioning.

Investigations are ongoing.
