By Aaron Humes: RCCbpo is reeling following the loss of seven workers and the child of one of the workers in a historic crash on the George Price Highway two weekends ago.
The company is going ahead with its Christmas party this weekend despite misgivings with the support of American country rock band Jet Black Roses of Nashville, Tennessee by way of Atlanta, Georgia.
The trio are in Belize as lead act at the best of managing director David Long. In an exclusive interview with Breaking Belize News (BBN) following their arrival on Thursday afternoon, the lead singer said he had been especially moved by the obituaries of the accident victims, having just witnessed the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene in his native North Carolina.
From that experience came the single “Carolina Blue,” whose proceeds are going directly to hurricane victims for their recovery. The group is hoping to finish a specially commissioned single with the working title “Forever Loved,” in commemoration of the lives of the lost and in succor of those left behind.
The band features elements of country, rock and even a little rhythm and blues and rap, straddling two cities that are giants of the American music industry. Bass player and secondary vocalist described their sound as “rock and roll with a country soul.”
You can find the group’s work online at their website jetblackroses.com and on YouTube. But stay tuned for our special interview with the members of the band coming later on as well as a feature on what RCCbpo has been doing for the holidays for the families of the accident victims.
