Council of Ministers of Health of Central America and the Dominican Republic and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention host One Health Disease Prioritization Workshop for Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: This week, the Executive Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America and the Dominican Republic (SE-COMISCA) in partnership with technical support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is hosting the One Health Disease Prioritization Workshop for Belize.

On August 20, 2024, the Ministry of Health and Wellness held the opening ceremony for the workshop.

Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Health & Wellness, the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and the CDC – Central American office.

The 3- day workshop includes participants from the human, animal, environmental health sectors and other relevant partners contributing to the development of action plans to address priority zoonotic diseases of greatest concern.
