By Aaron Humes: A 36-year-old car dealer, Eugene Myers, was shot and killed at Hotel Martin in Corozal Town on Thursday night, January 29. Myers, a resident of Calcutta Village, was dropped off at the hotel around 7:45 p.m. and was walking into the lobby when an unknown individual approached and fired a single shot, striking him in the head.
Myers was found lying motionless with entry and exit wounds, wearing a red shirt, jean shorts, and slippers. This incident is reminiscent of a previous shooting in Corozal Town in November, where Myers was also targeted.
Police are investigating the killing, which is being treated as intentional and targeted. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting is unclear.
