By Breaking Belize News Staff: Corozal Bay Area Representative Elvia Vega called out her contender for allegedly “sharing rum to the most vulnerable.”

“The political arena provides a platform to do well – to genuinely have the people at heart. I am a firm believer that the approach needs to be one of empowerment rather than POWER. It should not be about sharing out RUM to the most vulnerable on a weekly basis as can now be seen in Corozal since it’s the political season – it’s not about using our voting populace to elevate to a higher position and in turn keep them down and dependent! Rather it should be about finding solutions in making the circumstances better for them,” Vega said.

Vega added that true leadership is about bringing up others with you.

“Our people are our greatest asset!

The PUP has began accepting applications for standard bearers for constituencies across Belize.
