By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Corozal Football Association (CFA) 1st Division Championship returns to the fold on Sunday at the Carolina Football Field with two matches and the completion of a third game which was  suspended.

On Sunday, March 24, according to a CFA report, the match between Corozal San Antonio and Sarteneja was suspended after San Antonio player Clifton Sanker assaulted referee Edgar Tun. The 25 remaining minutes will be played starting at 12:00 pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Clifton Sanker has been banned for the remainder of the 2024 season by both the CFA and the Football Federation of Belize

“The player should NOT be allowed to play in any competition for the rest of the year,” the CFA said.
