By Aaron Humes: Police made arrests on Monday in Santa Elena Town for a stash of marijuana.
Police were at the residence of Minor Galindo, whose name has been in the news recently, and at the back of his property collared three individuals seen trying to jump the back fence. They were recognized as Guslin August, Tyrick Salas, and Kevin Santos.
The lead officer saw Tyrick Salas throw a black sling bag on the ground and run into a white house. The black sling bag was recovered, which contained a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. The drugs were shown to all three men, and they were informed of the offence committed, cautioned, and detained. Tyrick Salas was also told that he would be charged with intentionally obstructing a police officer.
At the police station, the drugs were weighed and amounted to 66.9 grams (2.35 ounces) of cannabis.
