Cop out on $8,000 bail after allegedly dropping tranche of ex’s nudes

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A police corporal who previously walked free of a wounding charge was back in court on Tuesday—this time accused of circulating private nude images of a woman without her consent.

Forty-year-old Cpl. Clifton Major Jr., who is posted at Precinct 3, Queen Street Police Station, was arraigned shortly after midday on two counts of cybercrime—specifically, intentional transmission of private images of a female without her consent.

Major Jr. pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was represented in court by attorney Orson “OJ” Elrington.

The allegations stem from a report made on December 29, 2025. According to police, the virtual complainant reported that on the morning of December 29 at about 8:30 a.m., she received a WhatsApp message from a co-worker informing her that intimate photos of her were circulating. The woman said she saw two of the images, which clearly showed her face, breasts and abdomen.

She told police that the images were among photos she had sent to Major Jr. in 2020 while they were in a relationship, and that they were shared exclusively with him. The complainant alleged that minutes after Major Jr. was involved in a dispute with her ex-partner, he released 22 photos and a video of her on social media.

The woman reported that the images, which displayed identifiable tattoos on her body, were not intended for public distribution and were shared in confidence. She told police the release of the photos made her feel disrespected and humiliated.

On Monday, February 9, 2026, Major Jr. was arrested. Police also executed a search warrant at his residence, where three computer systems were seized and labeled as exhibits in the case.

There was no objection to bail, and Major Jr. was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 plus two sureties of $4,000 each, which he met shortly before 2:00 p.m. today.

As part of his bail conditions, he must not contact the virtual complainant or any of her family members, must remain at least 100 feet away from her, and must report every Wednesday to the Racoon Street Police Station.

Major Jr.’s next court date is set for April 15, 2026, when disclosure is expected to be served.

Notably, this is not the first time Major Jr. has faced allegations involving the same woman. On November 18, 2025, a charge of wounding against him was withdrawn for want of prosecution after the virtual complainant requested no further court action. At that time, the prosecution offered no further evidence, and he was told he was free to go.
