By Zoila Palma: Through the coordinated efforts of the Benque Viejo and Orange Walk police formations, authorities were able to locate missing student Lissy Suntecun Milian.
Milian had been reported missing since Monday, June 16.
Acting on reports that the student had entered a vehicle near her school, police were able—through diligent and thorough investigation—to trace and identify the vehicle and its owner.
As a result of their investigation, police located the child, who was being hidden at a home in Guinea Grass, Orange Walk.
One person is currently in custody for questioning as the investigation remains ongoing.
Milian had reportedly been living with her adoptive mother in Melchor de Mencos, Petén, at the time she was reported missing.
