By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans are waking up to a cool, windy, and mostly dry morning today as a fresh northerly airflow continues to dominate our weather pattern. According to the National Meteorological Service of Belize, the day will remain relatively pleasant with cloudy skies and occasional sunny breaks, but changes are already on the horizon.
By late evening, an increase in moisture and instability is expected to trigger isolated showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain, mainly affecting central, northern, and offshore areas. Forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch says the public should expect shifting conditions after sunset, as cooler air interacts with moisture streaming in from the Caribbean.
At sea, conditions are rough, with waves between 6 and 8 feet. Mariners are urged to exercise caution, as gusty north to northwest winds (10–20 knots) may make navigation hazardous for small craft operators.
Temperatures remain moderate for November: along the coast, highs will reach 77°F (25°C) and lows will dip to 68°F (20°C); inland, temperatures peak near 78°F (26°C) and fall to 63°F (17°C); while in the hills, cooler air brings highs of 68°F (20°C) and lows of 58°F (14°C).
Despite the unsettled local conditions, the Tropical Weather Outlook remains favorable. The North Atlantic basin is expected to stay quiet for the next several days, with no tropical cyclone activity projected to affect Belize or its coastal waters.
Residents planning marine or outdoor activities should stay alert for quick weather changes and avoid offshore travel later in the evening as showers intensify.
