By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Cisco construction worker is facing a fine after pleading guilty to possession of a crack pipe in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.
Moses Jesus Conorquie, 45, appeared on Friday morning before a Senior Magistrate where he was read a single charge of possession of a pipe. Conorquie wasted no time and entered a guilty plea.
The court imposed a non-custodial sentence of a $200 fine plus $5.00 cost of court, totaling $205.00. He has until March 20, 2026 to pay the fine, in default of which he will serve two months imprisonment.
The charge arose from an incident on Monday, January 12, 2026, at around 10:30 p.m., when police were conducting mobile patrols on the Southside of Belize City. According to police reports, an officer was on joint operations when his attention was drawn to Conorquie, who was acting suspiciously near a residence on Tigris Street.
Police stopped Conorquie and informed him that a search would be conducted for drugs, firearms, and ammunition. During the search, officers discovered a nine-centimeter silver metal pipe in the left pocket of his pants. Police say Conorquie told them at the time, “I was not smoking it.”
Conorquie was escorted to the police station along with the pipe, which was later measured, and he was subsequently charged with possession of a pipe.
