Conservationists from Milwaukee County Zoo and Zoological Society of Milwaukee visit The Belize Zoo

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Recently, the Belize Zoo hosted colleagues from Milwaukee County Zoo (MCZ) and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee (ZSM).

“Our relationship with these incredible institutions dates back to the 1980s, and together, we’ve embarked on numerous ventures to enhance animal welfare and conservation efforts,” a statement from the Belize Zoo said.

The team, including Zoo Director Amos Morris, Beth Heller (VP of Programs – ZSM), Kari Williams (Sustainability and Conservation Coordinator – MCZ), Auriana Donaldons (Conservation Programs Coordinator – ZSM), and Katie Kuhn (Assistant Curator – Large Mammals), had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of the conservation projects they support in Belize.

In addition, the Belize Zoo hosted a conservation mixer, bringing together local partners who’ve benefited from the shared vision and support over the years.

“Together, we exchanged ideas, shared goals, and celebrated the synergy between our organizations.

Here’s to the power of collaboration in conservation! Together, we’re making a real difference for wildlife and our planet,” the statement added.
