Mario Laarmann (Universität des Saarlandes) and Romuald Fonkoua (Sorbonne-Université) recently announced a one-day conference dedicated to world renowned Martinican author Patrick Chamoiseau. The conference — “Chamoiseau intermédial” — will focus on Chamoiseau’s intermedial production, including comic books, films, photography books, and video games to which the author has contributed, and which have been realized in collaboration with other artists.
The event will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Salle de la Fresque (Room D306), Sorbonne-Université, located at 17 rue de la Sorbonne, Paris, France. The conference will conclude with a screening of Le Passage du milieu [The Middle Passage, 2001], directed by Guy Deslauriers (Martinique), with a screenplay by Patrick Chamoiseau (Martinique).
