By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City fisherman from the Conch Shell Bay area was remanded to the Belize Central Prison on Friday after he was arraigned on a firearm charge.
He is 25-year-old Jermaine Jamal Anderson, of West Collet Canal, Belize City.
Anderson appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate in Court #3, where he was read a single charge of kept firearm without a gun license.
Police allege that on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at #46 West Collet Canal, Anderson kept a grey and black firearm marked 17x9x19, with a serial number, black pistol grip, and extended magazine.
Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charge. However, due to the nature of the firearm offense, bail was denied in the lower court.
He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July 24, 2026.
