By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize closed out their Concacaf Men’s Under‑20 Championship campaign with a 2–1 victory over Saint Martin on Wednesday, March 3, 2026, at the Estadio Miguel Chocorrón Buitrago in Managua, Nicaragua, securing third place in Group A with a total of nine points from three wins.
Belize’s Group A Campaign
The U20 BMNT earned victories over Grenada (2-1), French Guiana (3-2), and Saint Martin, demonstrating resilience despite heavy defeats to the group’s top two sides, El Salvador (0-7) and Suriname (2-7). Belize’s nine‑point finish placed them third, ahead of Saint Martin (four points), French Guiana (four points), and Grenada (three points).
El Salvador Win Group A on Goal Difference
At the top of the table, El Salvador and Suriname both finished with 12 points, but El Salvador claimed first place on superior goal difference. This was despite a 2–0 loss to Suriname on Tuesday night. The result sends El Salvador to the next round of the Brazil 2026 Concacaf U20 World Cup qualifiers.
Other Group A Result
In the day’s other match, French Guiana defeated Grenada 2–1, with all Group A fixtures played at the Estadio Miguel Chocorrón Buitrago.
Group B and C: Jamaica and Antigua & Barbuda Advance
Across the qualifiers, two more teams secured their places in the 2026 Concacaf U‑20 Championship onWednesday:
- Group B:
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz completed a perfect run with their fourth straight win, defeating Puerto Rico 2–1 to top the group.
- Group C:
Antigua and Barbuda clinched first place after a 1–0 victory over the Dominican Republic, sealing their qualification.
